Across January and February, the Naomi House & Jacksplace warehouse team hosted two groups of K2 Corporate Mobility volunteers at their site, just outside Winchester.
The two warehouse days, which kicked off K2’s 2025 calendar of corporate volunteering initiatives with Naomi House & Jacksplace, each saw four members of the K2 UK team spend a day organising the donations received at the warehouse.
An estimated 30,000 bags are donated to the warehouse in a year, so the small team of staff and volunteers are always kept busy. They enjoy welcoming corporate volunteers, like those from K2, and showing them how the work they do supports the shops and in turn the hospices.

Sales of donated items at their retail outlets help to raise vital funds for the work that Naomi House & Jacksplace do, providing expert hospice care to nearly 550 life-limited and life-threatened children and young adults – as well as supporting their families- from across central southern England. When a child or young adult is diagnosed with a life-limiting condition, Naomi House & Jacksplace becomes their home from home.
January saw Angela Kelly-Bray, Marion Udall, Bronwyn Bruno and Negin Bardaei take part in the first warehouse day of the year. Barbara Hellendahl, John Halliday, Brian Bunting and Ashley Tickner, were part of the second volunteering team, and visited the warehouse on 26th February.
Both teams were praised by Naomi House & Jacksplace fundraising and warehouse teams for getting stuck in and working hard throughout the day.

Barbara reflects:
“It was a great day! Lots of fun and very interesting learnings to be had whilst sifting through the many bags of clothes and other donations – quite eye opening!”
Ashley adds:
“I am so pleased that I took the time to visit the Naomi House & Jacksplace warehouse to support with the sorting of the countless donations they receive. The effort that goes into providing stock for their 20 shops is quite something and the operation seems to run like a well-oiled machine.”
Ashley continues:
“This experience also opened my eyes to the struggles the charity is facing with rising costs across all areas of the business. With little to no government support for rent, rates, waste collection etc. it’s impressive that they still manage to function and run such a successful charity. This really highlights the value of the support from donors and volunteers. I would encourage everyone at K2 to use their 2 days paid charitable leave and get out and support the charity of your choosing!”
K2 is committed to empowering its global employees to be responsible citizens, and make a positive impact on local communities and the planet. K2 team members around the world are given two days paid leave per annum to spend supporting charitable causes. Naomi House & Jacksplace is just one of K2’s global charity partners.
