K2 golfers and volunteers support UK charity partner at Golf Day event
On Friday 8th August, members of the K2 UK team headed to Tyrrells Wood Golf Club for the annual Rainbow Trust Corporate Golf Day.
This year, in addition to submitting two teams to participate in the golf day, K2 also provided a team of volunteers to support with the running of the event.
K2’s Executive Business Director, Richard Rutledge, headed up the first team of golfers, and was joined by Group Credit Control Team Lead, Will Hern-Doyle, along with esteemed K2 clients. K2 Business Analyst, Luca Bruno, captained the second team, supported by K2 alumnus, Ken McCully, and valued K2 partners.
Richard comments:
“The annual Golf Day is always a great day out and this year was no exception. There was sunshine, friendly competition and a few great shots (as well as a few questionable ones!) – not forgetting the opportunity to support one of our wonderful charity partners; Rainbow Trust. Captaining the winning K2 team, and coming third overall was an added bonus!”

Global Head of Compliance and ESG, Linda Rafferty, led the volunteer team, and was accompanied by KTP Associate, Khushi, and Compliance and ISO Project Manager, André Gibson. Whilst Linda and André took on the tasks of selling raffle tickets and co-ordinating the ‘Hit the Green’ competition, Khushi was given the role of event photographer, and headed out on to the course to capture shots of all the teams.
Linda reflects:
“Giving our time to support a worthwhile cause like Rainbow Trust is incredibly rewarding, and to be able to do it side by side with teammates makes it even more special. It really was a brilliant day, and served as a great reminder of the way in which corporate volunteering days can help to increase employee wellbeing and connectivity between colleagues, in addition to benefitting charities.”

K2 offers all its global employees two days paid charitable leave per annum upon completion of six months’ service. Charitable leave can be used to give back to causes that team members have a personal connection to, or to take part in company organised volunteering initiatives with charity partners, like Rainbow Trust.
Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity supports families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness. They do this by pairing each family with an expert Family Support Worker who enables them to make the most of time together, giving them practical and emotional support, whenever they need it, for as long as is needed.
Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser, Jenny Evans, says:
“A huge thank you to K2 Corporate Mobility for their ongoing support of Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, as they returned for another year to our Corporate Golf Day. With two teams taking part in the event and three volunteers helping out on the day, it is a clear indication of their commitment to help support families caring for a seriously ill child. The event itself raised over £23,000, and we are so grateful to the K2 Corporate Mobility team for their generosity in helping us reach this total. We are looking forward to welcoming them back again next year!”

The amount raised will fund over 718 hours of practical and emotional support for families with a child facing a terminal or life-threatening illness.
