From 7th – 15th September, members of K2’s global team will be taking on the Babble Ride Across Britain ‘end-to-end’ cycling challenge to raise money for the K2 Foundation.

Over the course of nine days, the K2 Kinetic Cruisers, K2’s Ride Across Britain team, will be cycling 980 miles and making the epic journey from Land’s End to John O’Groats on two wheels.

A real test of endurance, the route will see participants needing to complete circa. 100 miles per day, crossing a wide range of landscapes and terrains, as they pedal from Cornwall, up through England, ending up at one of the most northerly points of mainland Scotland.

Highlights of the route include:
  • St Michael’s Mount
  • Cheddar Gorge
  • The Severn Bridge
  • Chepstow Castle
  • Shap Fell
  • Stunning Lake District views
  • The Grampian Mountains
  • Cairngorms National Park
  • Conquering Glenshee and the Lecht
  • John o’Groats and views of the Orkneys

In the lead up to the event, which is now fast approaching, our riders have been training hard to get ‘match-fit’.

Executive Business Director and Co-Owner, Richard Rutledge, and Billing Coordinator, Luke Charter, who are based at K2’s UK office in Guildford, have been taking advantage of their surroundings, and heading out for training rides in the Surrey Hills.

Clocking up training miles hasn’t been quite so easy for Group Billing Team Lead, Stuart McCully, who has had to find creative ways to overcome the challenges of the local landscape and climate in Houston, where he is located.

The K2 Kinetic Cruisers are taking part in Ride Across Britain to raise money for the K2 Foundation and so, as well as training hard, the team have also been working hard to reach their fundraising goals.

Richard comments:

“LEJOG is definitely a bit of a bucket-list challenge for a keen cyclist, so to be able to take it on whilst raising funds for the K2 Foundation was too good an opportunity to miss!

Knowing that we’re supporting the Foundation, and in turn the amazing projects and charities that it helps, has most definitely provided motivation on the toughest training rides, and am sure will be the thought that gets us through on those ‘dig deep’ moments during the main event.”

The  K2 Foundation  aims to help children within the communities where K2 operates, children whose futures are bleak or uncertain. The major focus since the Foundation was set up in 2023 has been  rebuilding a school in a São Paulo favela. Once completed, the school will provide a safe space within which up to 150 children can learn, play and be cared for.

We will be sharing regular progress reports from our riders across our social channels. For all the latest updates from the ride, check out our LinkedIn, X or Instagram.
