On Thursday 29th May, two members of the K2 UK team headed to Bocketts Farm Park in Fetcham to support K2’s charity partner, Rainbow Trust, at a special half term event for some of the local families they support.

Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity provide emotional and practical support for families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. Support is given at home, in the community or in hospital. A small part of the service the charity provides is organising days out, like this one, for the families they work with; helping them to spend more time together and enjoy much-needed respite.

With plenty of animals to see, and play areas to enjoy, Bocketts Farm offered the perfect venue for the Rainbow Trust families to have fun over half term, supported by the charity and their volunteer team. The volunteers were on hand to help the families navigate the farm and offer any assistance required throughout their visit.

HR and Office Administrator, Georgina Begley, who volunteered alongside Relocation Manager, Taynara Custodio, comments:

“It was a great day; it was so nice to volunteer and be able to help out. We met some wonderful families and had a fabulous day exploring Bocketts with them!”

Taynara adds:

“We had such a lovely day with the children. I felt like the luckiest of all the volunteers, as I got to cuddle a beautiful, smiley baby! I really enjoyed the whole experience and am grateful for having had the opportunity to support such a wonderful event.”

K2 offers all its global employees two days per annum paid charitable leave to use for volunteering. Whether supporting the work of one of K2’s global charity partners, or giving time to a cause that has personal significance, the aim of the charity days is to empower K2 team members around the globe to contribute positively to the communities within which we operate.
