K2 support Rainbow Trust at Halloween

Senior Relocation Manager, Keely Manser, who was accompanied by her son, Stanley, and one of his friends, comments:

“It was a really brilliant day. As soon as anyone mentioned we were raising funds for Rainbow Trust, people were very keen to get involved and it was lovely seeing all the kids having fun the good old-fashioned way, without electronics.”

Keely continues:

“It was fantastic to have the opportunity to bring my son along too, and give him the chance to get stuck in and experience the feeling of giving something back.”

Marketing Executive, Mathew Whalley, adds:

“It was so rewarding to see families having a great time whilst knowing we were helping to raise money for such a worthwhile cause. It was a great reminder of how much impact we can make when we give a little of our time.”

K2 employees are given two days paid charitable leave per annum to be used to take part in volunteering initiatives and support global charity partners, such as Rainbow Trust.

Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity provides emotional and practical support to families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness. Activities like the weeklong Halloween event at Chessington Garden Centre help the charity to raise much-needed funds that make a significant difference to the lives of families caring for a seriously ill child.

Katherine Burgess, Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager at Rainbow Trust says:

“We were thrilled to return for another year to Chessington Garden Centre and welcome back a team of K2 volunteers! With no central government funding, Rainbow Trust relies on support from events like these to ensure that families affected by serious childhood illness do not have to face it alone. A big thank you to the K2 volunteers for giving their time and helping to make a difference.”
